Soccer Photography

I bought my first DSLR camera in 2006, a Canon Rebel from Costco, back then my goal was to photograph my oldest Son playing recreational soccer, he was 9 years old back then. It took me some time to figure out the camera, and as I learned more, my interest in sports photography grew, eventually, my other children also began playing, and I have been photographing them ever since, my oldest went on to play College in upstate New York, my middle one is playing for San Diego State University, and my youngest is playing for FC Dallas, so I am happy that I still have a few more years left of photographing them every chance I have.

Inevitably, other parents approached me over the years, sometimes with questions about the equipment, other times to ask if I could share some of the photos, until one day, someone asked me if I could photograph a team and how much would I charge them, that was the beginning of an amazing journey.

I’ve now photographed hundreds of games, from recreational all the way to professional, from 4 year old’s to adults, and along the way, I became the official photographer of the Mexican National Indoor and 7v7 team’s, which has given me the opportunity to travel with them to Guatemala, Chicago, Tunisia and Australia to cover international tournaments.

There are many local teams I have photographed as well, some of them, for several years now, and I will say this, I absolutely love it, its fun, I meet a lot of great coaches and parents, the players know me now, I sometimes bump into them around Frisco or McKinney, and its very satisfying to hear them remember my name!

As much as I have been able to grow this side of the business, I think its just the tip of the iceberg, my goal in 2023 is to promote more soccer and sports photography in general, so that I can build new relationships and take on new clients, and I am very excited about it, because nothing beats a day out on the fields.
